ISO 45001 is the latest edition of ISO Standards, released in March 2018.
it was a long wait, as there was no specific standard released for HEALTH and SAFETY practices by ISO. OHSAS 18001 was the predecessor of ISO 45001 standard.

Organization’s proactiveness on emergency preparedness, risks, and opportunities review and operational controls will be strengthened for organizations who implement best practices of ISO 45001, overall best Health, Safety, and Environment practices add value, credibility, and commitment of an organization to protect resources from occupational and non-occupational hazards.
Organizations who are committed and operating license and office can apply for this certification, Primarily organizations who have a workforce working in a hazardous environment, oil and gas industries and its service providers, government and semi-government organizations will be keener to apply for this standard, although there is no rule as such limiting type of organizations to get certified for iso 45001, eventually its organization’s commitment towards best health and safety practices will be given priority for this choice.
